Pastor Ryan Strebeck answered God’s call to vocational ministry in 1999. Around that time he met his wife, Amberly, while they were students at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. They have been married for 15 years and have three children: Morgan, Athan, and Reese.

Ryan enjoys almost anything outdoors or having to do with agriculture. He likes hands-on activities with the kids, coffee and conversation with Amberly, and reading and writing poetry when he gets a chance.

Lori has worked part-time in music ministries in this church since 1991.   After serving as our full time worship and children's director for many years, Lori decided to return to working in our school system, and is currently in charge of our adult and children's choir.  Lori is married to Armando "Pipo" and has three daughters & two grandsons.  She and her husband have also provided foster care for adults with disabilities for the last 15 years.  In her spare time, she sleeps!  Lori can be reached at oloriortega@aol.com.

Linda is from Rotan originally and moved to Sweetwater in 1981.  She has a son Joshua who lives in Sweetwater as well.  Her hobbies are fishing, camping and enjoying the blessing of God's creation.  Her passion is service to others.  She has been at FUMC for 6 years.  Linda can be reached at office@fumcsweetwater.org.

Gigi grew up in Irving Texas and graduated from McArthur High School. After moving to West Texas, she met and married her husband, Stan, and has been married for 21 years with 3 beautiful daughters: Whitnee, 20, Karlee, 19, and Maylee, 9. She has been working at First United Methodist Church for 15 years, and is in her 5th year as the director of CDO. Her hobby is her work, and she loves watching children learn and grow in Christ. Kent Ruffin is a retired educator now working part-time at the church. He is married to Susan with a son, Andrew and daughter-in-law, Jessica and a daughter, Chelsea. His passion is service to others. His hobbies include birding and sketching.

Stan grew up in Sweetwater, Texas, and attended West Texas A&M University for 2 years. He currently works at NRG Energy and serves as the facility manager of the educational department of FUMC. He has been married to his beautiful wife, Gigi, for 21 years, and has 3 daughters: Whitnee, 20, Karlee, 19, and Maylee, 9.  His loves are God, his family, and golf.

Martha has been the organist/pianist for FUMC for over 30 years.  She also is the band and choir accompanist for the Sweetwater ISD and a choral consultant and accompanist for Merkel ISD.  She has been the accompanist for Hardin Simmons concert choir as well as McMurry's opera worship, and has played for many other events in the surrounding area.  She is married to L.B. Taylor and the mother of two children, Mark Taylor of Lubbock and Mellissa Jordan of Houston.

Brandye Glenn

Children and Family Ministries

Brandye brings her tremendous energy and passion into the children and family ministries here at the church. Brandye was a manager at Chili's for 6 years before becoming a teacher at CDO. She has always enjoyed working with young adults and children.  Brandye is married to Jason, and they have three wonderful children, Avery, Drake, and Henley. Brandye enjoys reading, antique shoppping and crafting, traveling back to Arkansas to spend time at the lake with Jason's family, and living on their family ranch outside of Sweetwater.
